Front Desk / Instructors

  • We are seeking part-time desk staff to provide the highest level of customer service and belay instruction
  • Ideally you will have:
    • Excellent customers service and communication skills
    • An understanding of POS transactions and posses accurate data entry ability
    • A keen eye for safety and a comprehensive understanding of the safest practices
    • Exceptional top­-rope belay skills and the ability to learn the instructional process
    • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings, holidays and special events
  • Your responsbilities will include (but are not limited to):
    • Greet and engage customers in a friendly and welcoming manner
    • Provide excellent customer service with accurate information
    • Be self-­sufficient to handle all front desk operations including (but not limited to): POS transactions, data entry, safety walks, incident reports and cleaning as required
    • Be a Climber’s Rock ambassador by motivating and encouraging customers to achieve their personal climbing, fitness and wellness goals
    • Conduct facility tours and orientations to new customers
    • Provide quality belay instruction and bouldering orientations with an emphasis on safe practices
    • Address safety concerns with confidence and/or report to senior staff
    • Actively maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the gym
    • Maintain a clean self appearance and display maturity and professionalism at all times
    • Participate in staff training and gym events as required

Climbing Coach

  • We are seeing part-time coaching staff to provide the highest level of guidance, encouragement and mentoring for our Youth and Adult climbing programs
  • Ideally you will have:
    • The fundamentals of climbing and climbing movement
    • An understanding of youth climbing, athletic development and coaching dynamics
    • An understanding of various learning styles and ability to adapt as needed
    • Comfort working with youth, adults and parents
    • Exceptional top-­rope and lead belay skills and the highest standards in safe practices
    • Willingness to commit to a fixed weekly coaching schedule that will include some evenings, weekends and the flexibility to work some holidays and special events
  • Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
    • Coordinate with program leaders and execute daily and weekly training plans
    • Be self-­sufficient to conduct training sessions which include warm­up, workouts and cool­-downs
    • Motivate, encourage and inspire participants to achieve climbing and personal goals
    • Be a positive role model for youth to become well rounded individuals
    • Assess risk and hazards to avoid unnecessary injuries and address issues with program leaders or parents as needed
    • Report to program leaders to provide feedback and updates
    • Always provide quality instruction with an emphasis on safe practices
    • Actively maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the gym
    • Maintain a clean self appearance and display maturity and professionalism at all times
    • Participate in staff training and gym events as required
